Welcome to Fiji Nate and Dorie!
January 31-February 8, 201
We also welcomed Elder and Sister Tanner who were on the same flight.
Nate remembers President Sefeti who came to orient the Tanners in S&I.
Nate was intrigued with Dad's bare toes!
A really fun first day at Castaway Island! Lots of sun, snorkeling, and good food.
Nate's first meal was Fijian Kokoda...the rest of us ate American!
We were skeptical of Nate's "Priceline" Hotel after our day at the beautiful Castaway Resort,
but were pleasantly surprised after we finally found it in the bush!
Lunch at our favorite spot in Pacific Harbor.
On our way back to Suva after attending church in Lautoka
in a ward where Nate had served on his mission.
Monday found us on a beautiful trip to the Namosi Highlands for a white water rafting trip.
It was more of a white water ripple trip, but so beautiful in country you cannot see
unless you are on the river.
We had Elder Smith and his parents with us.(Tracey and Amy)
He was released the middle of January and was already back with his parents! Great Company!
First stop for swimming and rock jumping...this was Dorie jumping, but I only got the splash!
We do have video proof her and Nate jumping!
2nd stop for swimming at the "Grotto". So beautiful!
Time to get on the long boats where 2 rivers meet.
Such a cute couple at the waterfall stop!
Back in Suva at the famous "Terry Walk"!
Checking out the guard at the Prime Minister's Palace entrance.
At the beautiful park on the Sea Wall. Notice the sign!
Wednesday took us to Takalana for Dolphins and snorkeling!
Moon Reef is one of the largest dolphin habitats in the world.
We were supposed to see them spinning, but all we saw was sleeping dolphins!
Fijian lunch after snorkeling.
The scenery at Takalna is very beautiful. Nate and Dorie brought a bag of clothing for the village there.
The best part of the trip to Takalana was the trip home where we stopped to give the village children "lollies" (candy) and bracelets that Nate's girls had made. It's so fun to see the big smiles on their faces!
Dave and Judy Parrish had sent a box of clothing to go to this house in Korovou. So we stopped there and gave candy and bracelets also. The village people love visitors!
At last...the WARWICK! our last 3 days were spent at our favorite resort on the Coral Coast.
The breakfast buffet is always the best!
There goes the snorkelers!
After going to church in Sigatoka we found our way to Denarau Island again! The Smiths reserved us a room at their Wyndom timeshare for our last day.
ISA LEI Nate and Dorie....till we meet again!
