Navua River Trip

Ready to go up the Navoa River to visit a Fijian Village 
with President and Sister Klingler,
 Sister Newsom, and Sister Lindberg.

                                                                  A Village Welcome!


  Kava Ceremony..water being poured from the bamboo 
into the bowl to mix the Kava. The Kave is then presented to the
 "Chief" of our group. No, we did not have to drink it!




                                                    Entertainment by the village men,
                                     The village women performed a song with a hand dance.....
                                                 then they they danced with all of us!


                                                     A demonstration of cooking in the lovo
                                                        (oven of hot rocks, mahogany wood,
                                        covered with banana and coconut leaves and canvas)




                                               Demonstrating taking the husk off a coconut

                                                 Demonstrating how to weave mats,
                                                design tappa cloth, and basket weaving.



                                                   The cute children at their preschool.
                                                                 They sang for us!

                                         After lunch the women spread out their items to sell


  the river for a while on a cane raft!
